Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood has reportedly been released on bail with further investigation set to be held.
On Sunday, the 20-year-old forward was arrested by the police with a charge of suspicious rape and assault after a woman uploaded violent pictures and videos on social media concerning the United forward.
On Monday, Police were able to interrogate the 20-year-old forward which led to him being arrested on account of suspicious sexual assault as well as threats to kill.
It was then revealed on Wednesday by Greater Manchester Police and online casinos nz that England international was released on bail pending further investigation.
A statement wrote: “A 20-year-old man arrested (on Sunday 30 January 2022) on suspicion of the rape and assault of a woman has been released on bail pending further investigation”.
Following the allegations made on weekend, Manchester United temporarily placed the 20-year-old player on suspension until further notice.
The allegations were made from an Instagram post on Sunday morning, which included videos, photographs as well as a voice note which turned out to be a conversation between the woman and Greenwood. They have been removed.
As dictated by law, all sexual offences complainants should not be identified and their anonymity will be protected for life under the law.
Ever since he made his debut for Manchester United back in 2019, Greenwood has been able to register 129 appearances for the Old Trafford outfit while playing best usa casino games. He made his international debut for England in 2020. Everything seems to be going well for the youngster till this case was made.
On Tuesday night, Manchester United released a statement to the media revealing their stance on the case and their “strong condemnation of violence of any kind.”
The club continued: “As previously communicated, Mason Greenwood will not train with, or play for, the club until further notice.”
It was later revealed that Mason Greenwood has been removed from versions of the FIFA 22 game following his initial arrest with Nike having suspended their contract with the young striker.
A spokesperson from the game’s manufacturer Electronic Arts took to the media to say: “Mason Greenwood has been removed from active squads in FIFA 22 and has also been suspended from appearing in FIFA Ultimate Team (FUT) packs and Ultimate Draft.”
A statement was released by Nike, it read: “We are deeply concerned by the disturbing allegations and will continue to closely monitor the situation.”
Taking a further step in the matter, Manchester United are willing to let their supporters, who own a jersey in Greenwood’s name, change their shirt for another shirt and name of their choice.
