What It Takes To Be A MotoGP Racer Sponsor

On August 30, 2019 by james

First of all, the art of riding motorcycles is a notch higher from the basic bicycle riding. And riding bikes competitively is far more involving. Well, apart from the necessary skill of mastering the position of your centre of gravity, there are still quite a bit more to make it to the big leagues.

The whole bike racing world has a lot of costs that can be too overwhelming for an individual to incur alone. And that is when one is forced to look for sponsorship. Either in a company or an individual. Sometimes you have to search on your own, but most times the sponsors find you. But that is only when they spot your expertise and would not mind to endorse you. As a sponsor to a rider, you will always ask yourself how much does it cost to sponsor a MotoGP racer? And by going through the following points, you will be able to gauge if you do meet the criteria.

  1. Know The Sport

No one will really hold this against you, but it will give you more grounding to your endorsement. Knowing what you’re putting your money into is a genius move. You really do not have to be a pro at it, but at least know the rules, common terminologies and the simple MotoGP techniques.  You need to be in a position to point your racer to getting the best gear, fastest and the best-performing bike. Money is essential, but getting your money’s worth is better.

  1. Be Familiar With The Bigwigs

Knowing some of the best racers in the market could go a long way into getting the best advice. As a sponsor, you need to seek counsel as to who to endorse and why. And what better way to do so than gathering info from the bigwigs themselves. You might be able to do this on your own, but insight from others who have done it before will be best. The pros could be other riders, other MotoGP sponsors or mere MotoGP enthusiasts.

  1. Have Access To Practice Grounds

As an endorser, your racers victory is your winning too. And as the great saying goes, practice makes perfect; your new rider should practice as often as possible to ensure a win. Having access to practising grounds will come in handy where your rider can use to carry out their sessions. The space you intend to use has to be as equipped as a racing track or something close to that. The similarity raises your racer chances to assimilate a practice session to an actual racing event.

  1. Have Ample Funding

Undoubtedly sponsoring a racer needs quite a lot of funding. The suits, the bike and the races your rider might take part in needs funding. Mostly considering that the best gear costs the most. Therefore, it wouldn’t make sense you decide to sponsor a MotoGP rider when you have no money.

Conclusion

Last but not least, you can now find out if you qualify to sponsor a MotoGP rider. And if you fall short on one or two, now you have the cheat-sheet as to how to get there.
